Adalat cc during pregnancy to control high blood pressure?

My doctor prescribed Adalat to control my hypertension because I’m planning to have a baby soon? Anybody ever taken it while pregnant. Let me know how it was. Thanks.

There are warnings but I am sure your gynecologist will tell you if you are at any risk (or the fetus).

I dont know what your thinking, but what makes you think that you know more than a doctor? Are you trying to kill yourself??? Thats not a question that ANYONE on this board should be answering. Its not a question you should be asking. Wow the people on this board amaze me. I dont mean to be harsh, but if you self medicate a drug like that, you can kill yourself, what do you think your doing? Are you out of your mind?

Do exactly what the doctor told you, take the exact dose he/she said, and dont try to play doctor, youll end up killing youself.

Anyone took Nifedipine (procardia, adalat) during early third trimester?

I just got out of the hospital for preterm labor (27 weeks) and I’m worried that if I take this stuff nifedipine that it can cause birth defects. I’m not on restricted activities, I was dialated to 1 cm and they stopped the contractions. I am taking 10 mg (they gave me 20 mg but it was making me feel really bad). They also diagnosed me with high blood pressure (I had it occasionally before I was pregnant, but I’m not overweight and I am physically fit). Is this stuff going to cause birth defects??? I’m afraid to ask the doc because they work for the drug companies.

I have been on nifedipine for the last 3 pregnancies. It worked great on stopping my contractions, along with a variety of other things. My babies were all born without any type of defect. I started mine around 20 weeks and continued until the end, I delivered early. E-mail me if you would like any more info or just have other questions. GL!!!

Is Nifedipine (Procardia XL, Adalat, Adalat CC) OK to use to stop contractions.?

My girlfriend was givin Nifedipine to stop contractions at almost 8 months pregnant. I looked up the medicine and it said it was for heart problems and I was wondering is it ok?
