Fetal Risk Summary

The Collaborative Perinatal Project monitored 50,282 mother-child pairs, 831 of whom were exposed to pheniramine during the 1st trimester (1, pp. 322334). A possible relationship between this use and respiratory malformations and eye/ear defects was found, but the statistical significance of these findings is unknown. Independent confirmation is required to determine the actual risk. For use anytime during pregnancy, 2,442 exposures were recorded (1, pp. 436437). No evidence was found in this group to suggest a relationship to congenital anomalies.

An association between exposure during the last 2 weeks of pregnancy to antihistamines in general and retrolental fibroplasia in premature infants has been reported. See Brompheniramine for details.

Questions and Answers

Is it ok to mix Pheniramine with Vicodin?, Is it ok to mix Pheniramine from an eyedropper with Vicodin?

probably not

which has a more sedative effect, if any? Diphenhydramine or Pheniramine?, I'd like to take an antihistamine, while having the least amount of drowsiness. Which is better, or are they the same?

Pheniramine or chlorpheniramine is your best bet. Diphenhydramine is very popular as a sleep aid.

All of those old antihistamines have sedative effects, but different people respond differently to them. If one doesn't work out, it's worth it to try another.

Can I take Benadryl & allergy eye drops (naphazoline & Pheniramine Maleate are active ingredients)?,

Yes You sure can. I do it all the time.
I get severe allergic reactions to cats to where I am almost brought to my knees in fatigue and soreness/weakness. I pack on more than just Benadryl and Eye drops. I take Claratin-D, Benadryl and Allergy eye drops and I am still fine.
SO you should be fine.

method of analysis for the dissolution of pheniramine maleate tablets?, method of analysis for the dissolution of pheniramine maleate tablets

Pheniramine maleate is an antihistamine used to treat allergic conditions such as hay fever or urticaria. It is generally sold in combination with other medications, rather than as a stand-alone drug. It is sold under the brand name Avil by Aventis.

Analgesics:

Acetaminophen: Rapid and almost complete; may be decreased if acetaminophen is taken following a high-carbohydrate meal.

Salicylates: Generally rapid and complete but may vary according to specific salicylate used and other factors such as tablet dissolution rate and gastric or intraluminal pH. Food decreases the rate, but not the extent, of absorption.

Caffeine: Well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.
