Questions and Answers

Pargyline (monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor) pharmacology?, How is pargyline transported into the adrenergic pre-synaptic neuron? Thanks.

Absorbed by the GI track and goes into the blood. Passive transport diffusion down a concentration gradient. It is metabolized by MAO (acts as a monoamine agonist) preventing the MAO from breaking down the monoamine neorotransmitters.
