Name: PHENTERMINE
Class: Anorexiant
Risk Factor: CM
Fetal Risk Summary
Phentermine (phenyl-tertiary-butylamine) is a sympathomimetic amine that has activity as a central nervous system stimulant. Similar to other drugs in this class, such as the amphetamines, it is used as an appetite suppressant in the treatment of obesity. In addition to other adverse effects, hypertension has occurred in adults treated with this agent.
Reproduction studies in animals investigating if phentermine is teratogenic have not been conducted. A closely related compound, chlorphentermine (30 mg/kg/day SC), was administered to pregnant rats during the last 5 days of gestation (1). Phospholipidosis was evident in the lungs of the mothers and the newborn rats, and 83% of the latter died within 24 hours of birth. Another group treated with phentermine (30 mg/kg/day SC) in a similar manner did not develop the complication and did not die. A subsequent Reference suggested that the chlorphentermine-induced pup mortality was consistent with retardation of fetal pulmonary maturity (2).
No studies have been located that described the placental transfer of phentermine in animals or humans, but because of its low molecular weight (about 186), exposure of the fetus to the drug should be expected.
A study published in 1962 described the use of phentermine in 118 women who were treated for obesity during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy up to delivery (3). Women weighing less than 200 pounds were given 30 mg each morning, while those more than 200 pounds were given with 30 mg twice daily. The weights of the patients before treatment ranged from 180 to 315 pounds. Adverse outcomes occurred in five women with stillborn infants (three females and two males), one of whom was caused by abruptio placentae. The cause of the other stillborns, whose weights ranged from 9 to 10 pounds, was not mentioned, other than the statement that one mother had mild preeclampsia.
The FDA has received two reports involving the use of the combination fenfluramine and phentermine in early pregnancy (F. Rosa, personal communication, FDA, 1997). A spontaneous abortion occurred in one of the pregnancies. In the other, an infant with bilateral valvular abnormalities, both aortic and pulmonary, with moderate stenosis and displacement was delivered. Because valvular toxicity has been reported in adults taking the combination, a causal relationship in the pregnancy case is potentially possible. No other details of these cases were available.
That any real benefit is derived from the use of phentermine for weight control during pregnancy is doubtful, and its use during gestation, especially during the 1st trimester, should be considered contraindicated. Moreover, although the causes of the stillbirths in the human study cited above were not fully elucidated and may not have been caused by maternal treatment with phentermine, the high incidence is disturbing and is a reason to withhold use of the drug during pregnancy.
Breast Feeding Summary
No reports describing the use of phentermine during lactation have been located. Based on its low molecular weight (about 186), however, the excretion of phentermine into breast milk should be expected. Because central nervous system stimulation and other adverse reactions may occur in a nursing infant exposed to this drug in milk, breast feeding should be considered a contraindication if the mother is taking phentermine.

Q&A about Phentermine
is anyone here on phentermine or have been in the past? did it work for you? and would you reccomend it?
"Acomplia (Rimonabant) is an anorectic anti obesity drug. It is a CB1 cannabinoid receptor antagonist. Rimonabant has been found to stop food craving enough to help people lose weight, and could also help curb other unhealthy urges, such as smoking.
This is a non-control weightloss solution that in one study, helped people who were overweight drop an average of 20 pounds, and was found to be very useful for patients who suffer from obesity. "
Where can I go to learn more about Phentermine and Hoodia? Are there any reliable websites you would recommend where I could purchase Phentermine or Hoodia?
If you cut back on junk food and cut down on high fat foods. Eat plenty of vegetables and lean protein and get exercise. Just get moving. Walk, Dance, do some gardening.
You'll get there. Not overnight, but you didn't gain it overnight either.
God Bless You, ;-)
I need to take a drug test for employment. And I was just wondering how long phentermine stays in your system.

What is the most important information I should know about phentermine?
Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Phentermine may cause dizziness, blurred vision, or restlessness, and it may hide the symptoms of extreme tiredness. If you experience these effects, avoid hazardous activities.
Phentermine is habit forming. You can become physically and psychologically dependent on this medication, and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Talk to your doctor about stopping this medication gradually.
Do not crush, chew or open any "once-daily" phentermine tablets or capsules. Swallow them whole.

I lost 112 pounds by losing it slowly. I was happy at losing 1-5 pounds amonth. It took me 1.5 years to lose it but it is gone. I exercised daily so that I would not have the flabby skin. I started out only being able to walk 7 minutes and gave up that day. I went back out the next day and walked 15 minutes. I can now jog and love to jog 3-5 days per week up to 1 hour. You can do this !
Can anyone assist me in locating a web site that allows for the purchase of the diet pill Phentermine with out using a doctors approval. I dont have a general doctor and this is an issue. Please help. Thank you!

Best of all it is an American pharmacy out of Jacksonville, FL.
Does one work better than the other? I ordered phentermine but they sent phentramine.
I ordered my phentermine on 4/19/07 from a website called US-Pills.com. I received my order yesterday, 4/25/06, and started taking it today. I can tell already that it works!!!! I have not been hungry all day and had very little cravings for bad foods. When I did eat today it was very little and healthy foods.
I went to the gym about 30 minutes after I took it and had more energy then before. However, the extra energy didn't last all day for me, which is good because I was afraid I would feel wired all day. The only side effect I have felt so far is dry mouth, so I've been drinking a lot of water, which is great. I drank about 30 oz of water alone during my workout.
I purchased 90 pills (37.5 dosage) for $199.00. US-Pills.com was the cheapest site I could find without a doctors prescription. Compared to the other sites 199.00 for 90 pills is great. The other thing I was happy about with this site is that there was a health questionaire I had to fill out when submitting my order to get approval from the web sites doctor. Based on my answers to the questionaire, which included my height and current weight, my order was approved and came with instructions on how much to take per day. The instructions directed me to take one pill per day in the morning before breakfast.
I am very pleased with my first day results and can't wait to see how much weight I lose in the next few days and weeks. I hope to lose about 25 - 30 pounds.
Hope this was helpful. Good luck!!!
I don't have a primary physician. Are there any websites out there where if you have to have a prescription you can be evaluated online? I would like to order phentermine 37.5 mg. OR are there any reliable websites that you have used that you can recommend me?

According to an article I read, when you stop taking the drug, you gain the weight back.

I had cyst removal surgery like two weeks ago. I have been on pain pills and was told by one of the nurses at my doctor's office that I should not mix my diet pills with my pain pills, she told me to wait off on the diet pills until I finished my pain pills. I took my last pain pill yesterday around 1:00pm, and I am wanting to start back on my phentermine pills today, Monday. Do you think it would be okay? Also, I have a food question, when I take my diet(Adipex) pill, is it okay to eat light fat free ice cream every once in a while?
For me acomplia has been the best. phentermine also showed good results, but i started to get addicted and it had way too nasty side effects.
happy not to have any sides from acomplia so far.
I have lost 34 pounds of fat in 7.5 months, and 3 sizes.
Quite happy with the results.
This is good site for Acomplia info you might want to take a look

I don't want to stay on phentermine for a long period of time because it is not recomend. So I'm looking for something over the counter that is safe to talk long term.
My doctor said i could only be on Phentermine for 3 months and I was, but now i don't have the energy I did while on it. It's not just a little difference either, it affects my classes and I don't want to do anything anymore. I need something to replace it. I've tried some drinks and energy pills but they're nowhere close.
Is there anything odd out there I could use or something I could ask my doctor for?
There are also timed released multiple vitamins that work fantastic for energy. GNC has multiple's for kids, men and women that specify for older, active, or whatever that person desires. It would really just depend on what you want .
There is also many different types of ginseng. Panax, Siberian, Asian, etc etc. The best form of ginseng that I've found it a liquid called Panax Ginseng. This also you can get at a GNC or any nutrition store.
I think your best bet is to go natural from now on. That way you don't have to worry about only being able to take it for a few months and doctors usually tell you that because your body starts to rely on whatever is prescribed too much and could stop producing whatever your body naturally produces to give you energy. Try going into a GNC and just talking with a sales associate. They are extremely helpful and very willing to speak with you. I hope this helps!
