make a butter with the dill and garlic, and parsely, grill some salmon and put a pat of that on top. The key is to use only a little because its a very strong flavoured herb. If you hate the taste of it it will be difficult to get used to!

What part of dill to I harvest to make dill pickles?, What part of dill do I harvest to make pickles?
I have some dill plants growing to use in making dill pickles, but I'm not sure what part to use. They are starting to flower, and my pickling cucumbers are nowhere near ready. Do I harvest the leaves and save them? Use the flowers? Wait until it goes to seed and use the seeds?

Save the seeds and the leaves. You can harvest the leaves and fry them out by freezing - laying them flat on wax paper and freeze for about an hour. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Just before using, squeeze the leaves between your fingers to release the oils and make them like fresh again.

How to counteract too much dill?, I made a chili recipe that called for fresh dill but I used dried (about half to 3/4 of what the recipe called for fresh) and it's too much. What can I do to counteract the overpowering dill flavor? Thanks in advance for the help!

how frequently do I need to water my dill seeds for them to grow?, I'm trying out an indoor herb garden, starting with dill. I just planted my seeds and watered them today. I realize that I mustn't overwater plants, but since these are only seeds, should they be in constant moist soil? At least until something starts growing.

Hi,
yes you do want to keep the soil somewhat moist, so that it does not form a crust on top, or the little seedlings have a hard time breaking through.
The dill seeds should not be planted very deep anyway,
I used to use a spray bottle to moisten the soil every so often until the seeds sprouted.

In what is the best environment to grow dill?, Alright, I've got the dill seeds, now what?

Plant according to the pack look on the back. Pay particular attention to the PLANTING DEPTH. It's very shallow full sun well drained soil. If you are going to plant in the garden lay a small board over where you sew the seeds this will help to fight off a hard rain until they germinate. Soon as you see some sprouting remove the board and let them grow.
