What should I expect from Vicodin?
I just got prescribed Vicodin for an incredibly painful root canal and I am very scared to take it because I have heard that people take it for sport. What should I expect? Does it get you high? I hate the feeling when I am not in control of my body.
I can’t take vicodn they make me nauseous. Eat before you take it.
Getting high on Vicodin? for those of you that have?
Okay so, i’m normally completely against doing drugs..but right now i’m rather depressed and nothing is helping. I have never been high off of anything in my life. I had a couple surgeries earlier this year and i have somem vicodin left over..i only ever took the prescribed amount which made me just a little sleepy. I’ve heard that people can get a nice calm relaxing feeling from vicodin..how many would i have to take to achieve this? I’m also aware of the dangers of becoming an addict..house is my favorite show lol. I’m just really stressed and this will only be a one time thing. advice?
i guess you could say it really just depends on the person…My friend took 3 pills and he told me he was feeling real good, i took 10 and i didnt feel anything

Teens getting high off Trileptal and Vicodin?
I’ve heard of teen (and others, but mostly teens) getting high on cold medicine containing Dextromethorphan. I’ve heard from from some people that Trileptal and Vicoden (not together) are also used. Has anyone heard about this? How do those drugs affect you if at all? Thanks for all your help, I’m writing a paper on the subject and appreciate all help I can get. These are only things I have heard from friends, and I’m not sure if there even being used. The only one I know for sure is Dextromethorphan. Any others and any information about them would be great. I need quite a bit more information about teens and over the counter medicines and only have one drug I’ve heard about. Thanks!
Vicodin is a favorite among many who abuse prescription drugs. I don’t know why…. I’ve gotten it for back problems before and it just made me sleepy and dizzy. Not exactly what I would call a great feeling. However, I read that it is the number one script abused by teenagers. (see article below)
How can I get vicodin from my drs, they will not give it to me (I really do have pain)?
I’m 27, I have been seeing doctors for over 8 months for abdominal pain that is undiagnosed. Next month I am going to undergo an exploratory surgery because I am fed up. Well, the only thing that has ever relieved my pain is vicodin, or when I’ve gone to the ER they will give me norco. I have been to many different doctors, and not one will write me a prescription because I have “ibs” and it “doesn’t warranty a narcotic pain medicine”
Well I can tell you, if this is IBS, i do not wish it upon anyone.. because I am in a constant 3-4 pain wise.. which doesn’t sound that high, but after 8 months I can’t take it anymore. The pain radiates to my back, which is always very sore and achy (I had an mri and that was “normal”)
I feel like this is some form of torture, I am not an addict.. I am really in pain and nobody cares. One doctor said he “doesn’t want me to go down that path” I said, I don’t care, i’m way past that and just want pain relief!! At this point I will lie to get my pain relief, some days I feel like i’m going to die it gets so achy and I can’t work. So do you guys have any ideas of what I can do to get the norco/vicodin? I don’t care if I have to order from Mexico, I can’t take the pain anymore and tylenol/ibuprofen don’t touch it. PS. PM me if you know any shady online pharmacies, I need help!
Unfortunately IBS is exaserbated by vicodin which causes intestinal upset so drs are not going to be willing to give it to you.
I do feel for you, though, vicodin may make it feel better short term but hurt worse in the long run.
I got prescribed a pill that is oval and says watson 349 on it what exactly is it?
it says hydrocodone on the bottle but i heard it was vicodin? what exactly is it? also can you get high from it? how many would it take to get you high? im just wondering i do not plan on getting high from them im trying not to so i want to know how many would get me high
Hydrocodone is an effective antitussive (anti-cough) agent, and as an opiate it is also an effective analgesic for mild to moderate pain control. Five mg of hydrocodone is equivalent to 30 mg of codeine when administered orally. Early comparisons concluded that hydrocodone and morphine were equipotent for pain control in humans. However, it is now considered that a dose of 15 mg (1/4 gr) of hydrocodone is equivalent to 10 mg (1/6 gr) of morphine. Hydrocodone is considered to be morphine-like in all respects.
There are over 200 products containing hydrocodone in the U.S. In its most usual product forms hydrocodone is combined with acetaminophen (Vicodin, Lortab), but it is also combined with aspirin (Lortab ASA), ibuprofen (Vicoprofen), and antihistamines (Hycomine). Both tablet and liquid forms of hydrocodone are available (e.g., Tussionex)
Hydrocodone is in Schedule II of the Controlled Substances Act. Preparations containing hydrocodone in combination with other non-narcotic medicinal ingredients are in Schedule III.
Vicodin, hydrocodone in combination with acetaminophen, is a commonly abused version of hydrocodone. Vicodin, as with all narcotic analgesics, can be habit forming—causing dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal symptoms if not used as it is prescribed. Even when used as prescribed, the following effects are possible:
COMMON SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE: dizziness, light-headedness, nausea, sedation, vomiting, and constipation.
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS: allergic reactions, blood disorders, mood changes, mental cloudiness, anxiety, lethargy, urine retention, ureteral spasm, irregular breathing, respiratory depression, and skin rash.
SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSE: bluish tinge to skin, cold and clammy skin, extreme sleepiness progressing to a possible state of unresponsiveness or coma, heart problems, heavy perspiration, kidney problems, limp muscles, liver failure, low blood pressure, nausea, slow heartbeat, troubled or slowed breathing, and vomiting.
Chronic Pain need help?
I have been seeing my doctor for just about 1 year for chronic pain. I have morning stiffness, headaches, joint swelling/stiffness, pain in joints, shoulder pain, back pain including lower back, my bones crack all day like I am just a skeleton. I concider myself somewhat healthy eat well have a 1 year old that I play with so I get lots of exercise.
My proplem is this:
There is no diagnosis! Doc says that I have ANA Blood but no R factor. I have had MRIs and Xrays done both showing arthritis in my joints, back, and tailbone. I live in pain all day everyday and tylonal and other otc dont work. I can’t take anti inflammatories because there really mess up my stomach. I was put on Ultram/tremadol for about 6 months. I told the doctor 3 times that they werent working that great and she said that is the only thing she can give me at this time since the rhuematoidalogist would be seeing me soon. Which by the way took 4 months to get into thuematoid office due to medical coverage. Well, I seen the rhuematoidalogist and he says that there isnt anything that he sees to shed any light on what is wrong with me. That was 2 months ago. Since then I started to take way to many ultram I was taking about 10-12 a day. I said to myself that that was rediculus so I talked to my doctor and sooo she puts me on Zannaflex, zoloft, and tylanol arthritis.
The zannaflex was one of the first meds she tried me on when I first started to see her. They didn’t work then nor do they help now. I am not really depressed so I don’t know why she puts me on zoloft. And I came into her office taking tylanol for my pain with no relief……I also have to say that before I seen her I was getting Vicodin from a friend. know that it is ilegal to take someone elses meds but with no insurance a new baby and in so much pain what does one do. I took 2-3 at the most a day with excellent relief. I never once abused them I never got “high” off from then. I told my doctor that I had been using them since I believe that you should tell your doc everything be upfront and honest. She looked at me like I was a criminal. And said “well, they probably worked to good and you will not get them here” So here I am over a year later with no answers to my condition being treated for depression and muscle pain with no relief. I have been nothing but honest with her. If I was out to get “Drugs” I would have been out of her office a long time ago . I just want help and don’t know what to do I feel she doesnt even try to listen to me….Oh she also checked me for Hepititis C 4 times because I am sleeved out with tattoos. And one more thing that she told me once when she first put me on Zannaflex I told her that I couldnt take a med that would make me tired because at that time my daughter was 6 months old and starting to pull up on everything….She looked at me and asks “Well do you have a Playpen?”
So, I am wondering what you all think I should do? I want a second opionion but I have no insurance and this doctor is covered through the state. But I have had so much lab work done xrays MRIs I just don’t want to go through it all over again. I am just lost on what I should do……
Sorry to write a misspelled book but I wanted to share all the details
First things first. Joints that crack all day is not Arthritis. Morning stiffness, how long does it last for? What I mean is, if you wake up like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz and cannot do anything, let alone see to your child for two hours, then you have morning stiffness. However if you wake up and within the hour have breakfast ready, this is normal. RA factor is negative, but you have ANA, did not say what the count was? Many people can have various factors in their blood, but over a certain amount, in line with symptoms would suggest different form of Arthritis. X-rays, MRI probably too early to see any change. Therefore at the moment this is pointing to Fybromyalgia and pain killers are not the correct treatment for this condition. So you need to see a Doctor, get to see a Rheumatologist as see if it is Fibromyalgia. Likewise read up about Fibromyalgia, see if the symptoms fit. Best of Luck
