dextroamphetamine???, I have ADD and have taken adderall for years and even got the generic version(amphetamine salts combo) i recently switched to a new pharmacy and they gave me dextroamphetamine and i honestly dont think it's the generic version of adderall. if you have any info on this drig it would be greatly appreciated. i normally take 30mg 3 times daily and with this drug i can't even take a whole pill.
I assure you that no one is trying to pull one over on you. Dextroamphetamine is one of the different 'amphetamine salts' in adderall. When switching to a different pharmacy, you have to realize that there are several different manufacturers of generic medications. Medications, although chemically the same, when produced by different manufacturers, will most likely look different from one another. And in the case of Adderal, the the generic medications might have slightly different names.
Adderal's generic equivilent may be called "amphetamine salts" from one manufacturer and another manufacturer may say "Dextroamphetamine"
Different pharmacies usually use different manufactures from one another.
But rest assured, you are receiving the same medication as you were at your old pharmacy.

Time course and elimination
On average, about one half of a given dose is eliminated unchanged in the urine, while the other half is broken down into various metabolites (mostly benzoic acid).[21] However, the drug's half-life is highly variable because the rate of excretion is very sensitive to urinary pH. Under alkaline conditions, direct excretion is negligible and 95%+ of the dose is metabolized. The main metabolic pathway is d-amphetamine phenylacetone benzoic acid hippuric acid. Another pathway, mediated by enzyme CYP2D6, is d-amphetamine p-hydroxyamphetamine p-hydroxynorephedrine. Although p-hydroxyamphetamine is a minor metabolite (~5% of the dose), it may may have significant physiological effects as a norepinephrine analogue.[22]
Subjective effects are increased by larger doses, however, over the course of a given dose there is a noticeable divergence between such effects and drug concentration in the blood.[23] In particular, mental effects peak before maximal blood levels are reached, and decline as blood levels remain stable or even continue to increase.[24][25][26] This indicates a mechanism for development of acute tolerance, perhaps distinct from that seen in chronic use. Its slower onset of action as compared to methamphetamine and methylphenidate is presumably due to a somewhat lower effectiveness in crossing the blood-brain barrier.[27]

How much Dextroamphetamine is needed for psychosis?, My friend is 196 lbs, how many mg of dextroamphetamine would it take for him to reach amphetamine psychosis, and how would he have to take it? oral nose lungs?
The fatal dose in humans is not precisely known, but in various species of rat generally ranges between 50 and 100 mg/kg, or a factor of 100 over what is required to produce noticeable psychological effects.
Is there a difference between dextroamphetamine and dextromethorphan?, Is there a difference between the two? And if so, what are they?
Other names for dextroamphetamine: dexie, dexadrine.
Other names for dextromethorphan: DXM, dex
Dextroamphetamine is a prescription stimulant for treatment of ADD and ADHD, it increases concentration, alertness and energy.
Dextromethorphan is a dry cough suppressant in low doses, but a powerful dissociative in high doses. it lowers your motor skills, induces auditory and sometimes visual hallucinations, distorted vision and just general trippyness.
In conclusion, DextroAmphetamine = high school speed
DextroMethorphan = over the counter trip
Amphetamine/dextroamphetamine salts vs. only dextroamphetamine salts? What is the difference between the two?, I take adderall on prescription for ADD by the way, so have a genuinely legal reason for asking.
Amphetamine molecules can occur as either of two mirror images. You can think of them as being 'left handed' or 'right handed'. For some reason, the 'right handed' one has more effect on the body. Normally when Amphetamine is manufactured, the mixture is in an equal amount of right and left handed molecules. This is called a 'racemic' mixture, and is referred to as Benzedrine, or just 'Amphetamines'.
Dexedrine (Dextroamphetamine) is the 'right-handed' molecules separated out. So there is no real difference, just one form is more effective than the other.
What all is Dextroamphetamine prescribed for and do people use it recreationally for any reason?,
Dextroamphetamine causes increased focus and decreases appetite and fatigue.
Along with Ritalin and Adderall, illicit use of dextroamphetamine has been reported among students, both as a study aid, social aid, and for purely recreational purposes.
My 5 yr old son has ADHD and is prescribed by the doctor to use Dextroamphetamine.?, The doctor gave me a printout of side affects and the goods of the meds but I want to know from someone who actually takes this medication for ADHD what the goods and bads are before I actually choose to go with this medication.
I would get a new doctor. There are a lot of "C" students out there. Typically doctors are not armed with good nutrition skills and have only drugs to recommend for problems. ADD is generally way over diagnosed and diets severely lacking in nutrition are the root cause. Additionally, if the mother is deficient in essential fatty acids when pregnant and has too many omega 6 fatty acids creating an imbalance in these essential fats, the child will not develop a good nervous system, have many ear infections, etc. The typical treatment doctors give children for these infections is antibiotics that destroy their intestinal flora that is 3/4 of the immune system. All this contributes heavily to the symptoms of ADD.
My suggestion is to locate a Certified Nutritional Therapist that is familiar with QRA or Lingual Neural Testing to see what deficiencies he has, specific to him, instead of guessing what is good and bad. Get him on a good diet and you will see a huge change in him. That is good science. Giving a child an amphetamine is VERY DESTRUCTIVE, both emotionally and physically.
ADD is often associated with adrenal burn out, long term deficiency of critical nutrients for kidneys, adrenals, and spleen. Poor HCL production due to the lack of high quality salt (not the kind you buy in the Mausoleums where dead food is held in state - local so called "super" market), soft drinks, refined grains (especially white bread).
I would be happy to assist you in this if you contact me by e-mail. good luck to you
How long does Amphetamine-dextroamphetamine as found in adhd medication stay in your system?, PLease if you can state a source
The elimination half life is how long it takes for 50% of the substance to be removed from a biological organism. It looks like the source says between 10-14 hours for 50% to be cleared.
