How to stop dizziness?, I have debris in my ear drum - the doctor told me this probably occurred from an old infection. This debris is causing me to have short intense bursts of dizziness. They are now occurring every 15 min or so, and the pills which were prescribed to myself 2 days ago (cinnarizine) have no effect. I have feeling that the debris is linked to an infection in my wisdom tooth, (severely infected whole left hand side of face is numb) which is due to be removed on monday. Wondering if anyone knows of anything that can be done to help dizziness until monday cause its almost unbearable.

Steps Stop whatever you are doing. Nothing is as important as your health and state of mind.
Sit down with your head between your legs. This will help the blood flow to your brain.
Breathe deeply and slowly. Your brain is starving for oxygen so you need to make sure you take in large breaths but do them slowly so you don't hyperventilate.
Respond to others with simple nods or shakes of the head if you are not alone. This assures you not only stay alert, but it assists others in knowing what you need.

Tinnitus. Roaring in ears. My 80 yr old mother suffers intolerably. Any suggestions.?, She has sensorineural deafness and has been adviced an hearing aid. Will this help ?
Any durgs etc for this problem.
she was put on Cinnarizine but didnt help.
Tinitus is enough to drive you around the twist sometimes.
I feel badly for her.
A hearing aide has been offered to me as my Menier's and tinitus have caused some deafness, but was told the hearing aide COULD ACTUALLY MAKE THE TINITUS WORSE. As of course it makes ALL sounds louder.
If the tablet didn't work she can try a diversion therapy. All they do is try and teach you different ways of distracting your brain from constantly listening to the ringing. But that's about all.
EDIT Don't try the anti-fungal. She will end up with more trouble. Sorry but SQ***** what ever obviously has no idea what tinitus is.
IT'S NOT AN INFECTION.

Usually you would be prescribed an antibiotic (usually zithromax unless you are allergic to it) for an ear infection. For the headache, dizziness feeling you can take Meclizine (by prescription and over the counter)...ask for it at the pharmacy! If you were prescribed an anitibiotic you usually start to feel better within a few days. Zithromax is either a 3 day or 5 day antibiotic (the fastest working and shortest time to take antibiotic). I would definately call your dr and let them know that you are still not feeling well, and request them to call in an antibiotic to your pharmacy or make another appt! I work in a pharmacy, and ALWAYS have ear infections, so I'm sure if you take an antibiotic you will feel LOTS better in a few days after taking it!
