Fetal Risk Summary
Carisoprodol is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. The reproductive effect of this drug in animals has not been studied. No published studies describing the use of this agent in human pregnancy, other than the one shown below, have been located.
The Collaborative Perinatal Project monitored 50,282 mother-child pairs, 14 of whom were exposed in the 1st trimester to carisoprodol (1). No association of the drug with large classes of malformations or to individual defects was found.
In a surveillance study of Michigan Medicaid recipients involving 229,101 completed pregnancies conducted between 1985 and 1992, 326 newborns had been exposed to carisoprodol during the 1st trimester (F. Rosa, personal communication, FDA, 1993). Twenty (6.1%) major birth defects were observed (14 expected), including (observed/expected) 3/3 cardiovascular defects, 2/0.5 oral clefts, and 1/1 hypospadias. No anomalies were observed in three other categories of defects (spina bifida, polydactyly, and limb reduction defects) for which data were available. Only with the two cases of oral clefts is there a suggestion of a possible association, but other factors, including the mother's disease, concurrent drug use, and chance, may be involved.
Breast Feeding Summary
Carisoprodol is concentrated into human milk with concentrations two to four times those in the maternal plasma (2). The American Academy of Pediatrics considers two other centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxants (e.g., Baclofen, Methocarbamol) to be compatible with breast feeding (3), because neither agent is concentrated in milk. Because of the high concentrations that appear in milk and the absence of reports describing the use of this drug during lactation, carisoprodol should be used cautiously, if at all, during lactation. Women taking this drug and who elect to nurse should closely monitor their infants for sedation and other changes in behavior or functions.

.Carisoprodol is the same as Soma, Carisoprodol is the Generic version of Watson Soma. Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant used to relieve the pain and stiffness of muscle spasms and discomfort due to strain and sprain. Carisoprodol is used together with rest and physical therapy for short-term relief of painful muscle conditions. Carisoprodol has a rapid onset of action, with the aforementioned effects lasting for approximately 2-4 hours. You can buy Carisoprodol online without a prior prescription at DrugStoreAmerica. ORG. Without the hassle's of a doctors office visit, then waiting for it to fill at the pharmacy etc.. A US licensed Pharmacist writes the prescripion,Fills it, then sends it Fedex overnight From a US Licensed Pharmacy. Not from mexico or canada. I hope that answers your question.
How long does carisoprodol stay in your system and is it detected in drug screening?, My boyfriend took one (1) yesterday and was called in today for a drug test for a job he applied for two weeks ago. Do you think it will show up? He got it from a friend but has had it prescribed by a doc before a loooong time ago. Can't find bottle. HELP!
Normally, basic drug tests for work purposes do not test for carisoprodol. They only test for 5 basic drugs that are often abused. It will only show up positive if the test is specific for it.
Since he only took one yesterday, then he is fine. Levels may still be low to cause false positives.

Is it safe to mix Carisoprodol with Hydrocodone?, The Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxer I think, and it says to take one every night before bed. And then the hydrocodone is take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed. They were both prescribed by different doctors..can I take them both together?
Yes, I used to take both for TMJ symptoms. Taken together they will caused marked drowsiness, but since the SOma is at bedtime anyway, it shouldn't be a problem for you.
Is it safe to take a Soma (Carisoprodol) with my Lunesta?, Hello,
I am prescribed to Lunesta for insomnia and it works great. However I recently came across some Soma muscle relaxers that I take for my muscle spasms. I know how my body reacts to both drugs but i'm just wondering if it is safe to take both at the same time? Thank you!
I checked the drug interaction site, and they didn't say anything... but to be sure, I would call a pharmacist. Just tell them you are on Lunesta and have a previous prescription for Soma.... they'll tell you for sure if there is any interactions.
Does the pain killer CARISOPRODOL have penicillin in it?, I need to know if carisoprodol has penicillin as one of its ingredients
Thanks
carisoprodol is not a pain killer, it is a muscle relaxer, sold under the brand name Soma in the U.S.
And, no, it does not have penicillin in it or any penicillin-related substance.
What do you know about Valium or Carisoprodol(SOMA)?, I'm curious what you know about how people "abuse" these drugs and what effect it has. Or how many mgs you need to take to feel it?
Any information helps. Thanks.
Both could be habit forming and are muscle relaxant. It usually makes you drowsy within 30mins after you consume the drugs. But doctors usually do not prescribe it unless it is really an extreme case. eg patient is in a lot of pain and need to rest but is unable to.
As to how much you take before you feel "high"?
Well that really depends on the weight of the person in question, and whether or not if he or she has been taking the medication for a period of time.
Generally speaking, a person with a heavier mass need more medication and if the person has been taking the drug for some time, tolerance for the drug in the body would have taken place hence the drug would not be that effective and would need a higher dose to get "high".
Is it safe to take vicodin with carisoprodol?,
You can check drug interactions on http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/Interaction...
will Naproxen or Carisoprodol show up in drug test for job applications?,
The carisoprodol may. I'm not exactly sure but if you have a legitimate prescription just bring the bottle with you. I had to when I had a drug test and was on lortab for an abscess.
what percentage of carisoprodol(soma) is converted into the actve metabolite meprobamate?,
Roughly 23% -- depending to a large extent on whether the subject is an extensive, rapid, or ultra-rapid metabolizer. Soma is converted to meprobamate in the liver by the CYP2C19, an enzyme with 4 alleles.
