Fetal Risk Summary


No reports linking the use of carbarsone with congenital defects have been located. However, carbarsone contains approximately 29% arsenic, which has been associated with lesions of the central nervous system (1). In view of potential tissue accumulation and reported fetal fatalities secondary to arsenic poisonings, carbarsone is not recommended during pregnancy (1,2).
