What are some good tips for summer weight loss?, I'm hoping to lose weight for next summer, and I'm looking for some good weight loss tips.

After reading a lot of weight loss tips, I’ve caught myself saying “I’m not going to be able to do that!” I’m sure that we all have. A good summer weight loss tip is going to have to be something that you’d actually do, obviously. Keeping that mind, I hope that you’ll find the following weight loss tips helpful to you. Over the years they have helped me maintain my current weight, and they’ve also helped me lose weight as well. These are some of the easiest and most effective weight loss tips I’ve found.

At first, when I started trying to lose weight, I went along with the traditional attitude that eating snacks in-between meals was counter-productive to an effective weight loss program. I cut out snacks from my diet altogether as a result of that belief. I found that the problem was that by the time I sat down to start eating my meal, I was so hungry that I couldn't control my portion sizes efficiently.

I found that I can keep my blood sugar at a decent level (and keep my appetite satisfied too) by eating more healthy and sensible snacks in between smaller meals. In fact, over the more recent years, research has shown that you can keep your body’s metabolic rate productive and steady by eating smaller meals spaced out throughout the day rather than the traditional “3 square meals” ideology. You can mix your carbs and proteins when selecting your snacks. Low-fat cheese on some wheat crackers and some grapes would be a great example of a healthy snack.

Portion control can be better managed, and if not, it will become a large stumbling block. You can purchase smaller, single serving foods, and use plastic bags to enforce portion sizes. You can always use regular sized foods, but use small plastic bags to separate out smaller portions in case buying single-sized foods turns out to be too much of a strain on your budget. That’s a great weight loss tip, since sometimes eating straight from the original packaging will cause you to eat more than you should.

The calories in the food will count just as much, even if the food is advertised as either low-fat or reduced in fat. Be sure to double-check your serving size by reading the food’s nutrition label. After measuring out the appropriate serving sizes, you can then store them in your plastic bags.

Another one of the greatest weight loss tips is ice water! Place a small bottle of water in your freezer. This is a great idea to keep your water cold, and most weight loss programs recommend drinking water anyway. After some time, the water will form a small block of ice inside the bottle as it begins to freeze. That small block of ice will continue to keep the surrounding water very cold as it melts.

Sometimes it’s boring to just drink plain water. Just for the sake of variety, you can keep low-calorie flavored waters in the refrigerator as well. Request an ice water with extra lemon slices in it when you’re dining out. Then, just add some artificial sweeteners and you’ve made diet lemonade to enjoy!

Most of the time, the regular versions of foods that you’re used to taste a lot better than their reduced fat and low-fat equivalents. However don’t be discouraged, and continue to try the low-fat and non-fat alternatives of your favorite foods. You might be surprised to find a low-fat version of your favorite food, and there’s a chance that you’ll like it more than the original.

You also might want to consider that there could be some places in your home that you associate with eating. You might stop and look for a snack while lingering around the kitchen – instead, leave the kitchen after eating. You might be tempted into eating a dessert if you sit longer at the dinner table after you’ve finished your meal. Instead, as soon as you’re finished eating, try getting up and going for a walk. You’ll enjoy the extra exercise, plus it will help get your mind off of eating, food, and snacks. You might need to change where you do things to stay away from these “problem areas” if you have a hard time fighting the temptation of food.

You can help yourself lose weight by breaking the habit of using food as a comfort and as a stress-reliever. You could listen to music, read a book, go for a walk or jog, or just do some exercise. The point is that each different activity you select can be a viable alternative to eating when you need to relieve stress.

Schedules can become hectic and full very fast. Squeezing weight loss programs in your already busy life can be a very difficult task. Sometimes it can be hard to find the time in one place, but it’s recommended to try and get at least 30 minutes of good physical activity each day. You can try to break your 30 minute block of time into smaller 10 or 15 minute blocks. You’ll be able to get some much needed exercise by spreading the smaller blocks of time throughout your evening and day.

Exercise is cumulative, and keep in mind too that getting more and more physical activity can help you burn off calories

What are some good weight loss tips?, what are some good weight loss tips,, i dont want the fastest way i jus want the most succesful way?

1 Dietary control and exercise. It’s true what they say - all you need to do is watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. You can quit reading this list now, you now know everything you need to know and didn’t need to fork over $500 for the privilege of me telling you the secret of losing weight. You don’t need to read a 4,000 page book, you don’t have to buy a tape series, you don’t need to stay up late at night to watch infomercials to understand this basic premise. It’s 100% true.

2 Change your lifestyle. If you’re calling this a “diet,” then you’re going to gain all the weight back (and more) within a few months of losing it. Diets do not work. Diets are temporary. When you change your dietary lifestyle, however, you’re changing your habits - and you’re putting yourself on track for long-term / continued success and weight maintenance. Don’t ever tell anybody you’re on a diet - ever. I’m speaking from experience, here - a reformed low-carber. Worked out well for a while, but ultimately failed because my entire lifestyle didn’t change (permanently).

3 Join an online support group. In my case, I created my own - FatBlasters. It’s essential that you not feel alone, and reaching out to friends (new or old) is typically a smart move. I just heard about PeetTrainer, but didn’t know about it when I began down the road to weight loss. You have to know that others are out there for moral support - they know things that you couldn’t possibly know, and they’ve probably been “in your shoes” at some point in the past (or present). Share stories, laughter, tears, successes, and failures - share them. There are thousands of communities out there, so keep looking until you find the one that fits you.

4 Take before and after photos. I know it sucks to see yourself as a chunky monkey (sorry, that’s what I called myself - if only to get myself motivated to meet my weight loss goal). However, there’s no easier way to illustrate your progress. The “after” photos are far more fun to capture and share, admittedly. Find yourself on Flickr! It’s good to see yourself how others see you. Do you like how you look? In many ways, Flickr helped me lose weight.

5 Hire a substitute teacher. Don’t reach for the brands you know and love immediately - or without thinking first. Eggs are “good” for you, but consider using egg substitutes instead (in fact, many restaurants will let you order lower calorie foods). There are countless “lower” alternatives for you to try. If something different doesn’t taste good, by all means - find a better substitute, or eat less of the original. In some cases, the substitute may be worse for you than the regular version of the product. The good news is, healthier choices are silently replacing their “normal” counterparts - and they taste just as nice.

6 Start reading labels. I know it sucks, but you have to do it - and there’s no way to avoid this tip. If you don’t know what you’re putting in your mouth, you’re flying blind. Don’t assume, either - triple-check the ingredients list and serving sizes. You must rely on yourself for this; nobody else is going to be able to lose the weight or do the math for you. It’s not that complicated a task, but it will require effort. If nothing else, just pay attention to the calorie count.

7 What’s so funny about bovines? If you like cheese, you must buy the Laughing Cow brand, and keep several of the suckers in stock at all times. The individually-wrapped wedges make for excellent snacks, and are wonderful when melted over just about anything edible. I’d be careful about straight-up American cheese, though - it’s oil, but not necessarily as good for you as (say) a slice of cheddar would be. I have yet to find something as calorie-light and filling as Laughing Cow (I don’t know how they do it).

8 Tell your family. You’re not going to lose the weight alone, even if you ARE alone in losing the weight. If you’ve got a family at home, talk to them about it - initially, not incessantly. Let them know what you’re going to do, and that you want (and need) their support. If you don’t let them know, you’re running the risk of them inadvertently sabotaging your efforts. You want them to help you get to your goal(s). You want them to share in your happiness when you’ve made it past a certain mark. Who knows? Maybe some of your new habits will rub off on them and they’ll become healthier people, too?

Weight loss tips needed please!!!! What are some good workouts to help burn fat at the gym?!!?, I have been going to the gym like 4x a week , and do about 1.5 hrs of cardio, I am eating better, but i still don't see fast enough results. What are some good workouts I can do at gym to burn fat?! Is it true that I need to detoxify my body first?
Thanks in advance!

You don't necessarily need to detox but it wouldn't be a bad idea. If your eating healthy foods like plenty of fruits and veggies then you body will automatically detox itself. Any kind of teas are ideal for for detoxing. TRY to eat at least every 2 to 3 hrs in order to keep your metabolism burning like a fire. If you eating any sugar cut it out and get your sugars from natural sources like the fruits. IN the gym try to do circuit training like: LIFTING: jumping from one machine to the other with almost no rest at all free-weights included. CARDIO: try to go at a very high pace for a minute or two and then slow down to a normal pace and continue this for at least a 20-minute cardio session. This is really hard but burns alot of fat. Honestly eating right is going to be a big percentage of how your body turns out unless your in the gym for a whole workday like UFC fighters.
My daily diet:
6am- water, egg, or protein shake or fiber cereal dry(I dont have time for cooking)
830am- apple or orange and water
1030am-tuna can or chicken breast or any lean meat and a veggie and water
1300pm- orange or apple and water
1500pm- protein shake
1730pm- fish and any kind of greens and water(cut this meal in half and have it two hrs later.
1900pm- eat rest of fish and greens
2130pm- casein(slow digestive) protein
Go to bed early because sleep is important for your body to recuperate
If your trying to get alot of muscle then put alot more protein in the diet above and wake up in the middle of the night and take a protein shake.

What are some good weight loss tips for a person with a hectic social and school life?, I am overweight by about 20 kilos overweight for my age. and as i said dont have much time to excersise. eating and quick exersise tips would help, please! i have limited space to exercise in, so keep that in mind.
thanx!

Good on you for coming to this decision. I hope I can help you with your situation.

If you burn more calories than you take in (achieved through a healthy eating plan), build up muscle through strength training and complete 30 minutes of solid cardio a day then weight loss is a certainty. I know you don't have a lot of time spare but these factors are a must if you are to acheive the results that you want.

Cardio can be done outside and strength training can be done with dumbells. You do not need a lot of space.

We need muscle in order to burn fat. Muscle is a very active tissue, so burns fat even while resting. You need to have a certain amount of it in order to burn fat efficiently. Every pound of muscle you have will burn 50 extra calories per day.

This following website gives you the tools you need to develop a healthy lifestyle and maintain it for a lifetime.

Good luck and all the best with your weight loss goals

What are some good weight loss tips for a 16 year old girl?, Im a 16 year old girl, 5'2", and 155 pounds. My heaviest weight was 164. Im trying to get to 125 by March or April. I play Dance Dance Revolution 2-3 hours a day. I try to stay in the 700-1100 calories a day limit. I drink lots of water & stuff....so my only problem is overeating and eating bad foods sometimes. Does anyone have any good tips so I can lose 30 pounds by March/April? I dont know if DDR is enough....should I be doing more workouts? I do workout mode and burn about 80 calories each time, and usually play it 2-3 hours a day. Thanks!!!!!

You should be able to lose 10 lbs a month pretty easily if you eat properly and continue your exercise. Try eating small meals 5 or 6 times a day instead of larger meals and try not to eat after 6 pm and if you do eat after that, make sure its very light. If you haven't tried weight training, that will help as well because it increases your resting metabolism. Your body is in repair mode to fix the muscles so it burns more calories.

What are some good weight loss tips for a 16 year old?, I am 16, play sports 6 days a week, all year long, do crunches, eat healthy, yet I have a stomach. I will never retreat to dietary supplements or anorexia/bulimia, so do any of you have tips on how to get rid of my belly fat..

All the s h i t you are doing works. Your method takes time (4+ years). Depending on your geographical location, it could take longer or shorter to get rid of your stomach fat. If you live in a hot location, you will burn it off faster than in the cold. Running is what I am talking about. Run about 12 miles per week for 4 weeks and your problem will be solved.

what are some good weight loss tips for a teen, I'm 12 and i'm really over weight can someone give me some good tips on how to loss weight in a short amount of time
( I'm trying to loss 80 pounds please help )

At 12 dieting is not safe and is more so unlikely to stay off as your body is going through many changes.

At your age your body needs 1600 to 1800 calories per day.

However, you can make these changes safely:
Use lower fat dairy products
Snack on fresh fruits and vegetables
Drink 4 glasses of water per day
Cut out sodas, fast and junk food
Broil or bake food, not fry
Use whole grain products
Eat leaner meats
Drink more water than juice

Also, eating 5 to 6 times a day (smaller meals) will help your energy, blood sugar levels as well as stabilize your metabolism.

Do NOT take diet pills and do not detox.

Breakfast is really important, so never skip it.

Find something active that you like to do. Swimming, skating, basketball, bowling. A half hour a day is plenty and any activity counts.

Lastly, ask your doctor to refer you to a Nutritionist... you will be surprised by what you learn and she/he can discuss meal plans with you.

Does anyone have some good weight loss tips?, I went from 125 to 135 in like 6 month's I haven't changed much of my diet, WHAT'S GOING ON!

A good tip for weight lose is to not try to lose weight. A lot of diets will tell you that you will lose weight fast, but where are you losing the weight from? Most of them will lose the weight from muscles, which will lower your metabolism, causing you ro gain it back again.

Instead of losing weight, lose the fat. To do this, just remember one word: SYNERGY. There are four component:

1. Eat healthy - For your body to be healthy, it needs the proper nutrition. And, for you muscles to grow, you need the nutrition.

2. Exercise - You want to do both cardio exercise and weight lifting. Cardio workouts are good for your heart and will burn more calories while you are exercising. Weight lifting will increae your muscles, which will burn more calories while at rest.

3. Rest - For your muscles to grow, you need plenty of rest. They need at least 48 hours to recover, so don't work the same muscles everyday. Also, to "recharge" your body, try to get 8 hours of sleep each night.

4. Hydration - Your muscles are made up of 70% water, so you want to keep your hydration level up. You want to drink water before you get thirsty. Carry a water bottle with you and sip on it all day.

These four items done by themselves, are very good for you. But if you do them all together, you will see your results multiply 100-fold.
