Is there an allergy pill that is similar to a celestone allergy injection?, I have tried several allergy pills over the years, they are now all over the counter and don't work. When I get a celestone allergy injection it works right away, is there a pill similar to that injection?

Celestone injections work for you because this is a "corticosteroid". (IT is not the same as illegal steroids that athletes use to bulk up.) It is actually NOT an allergy med -- it stops the allergic response in a totally different way. I imagine you are NOT getting these very frequently! If you are getting them frequently, your doctor is mis-using them.

Is your doc using this medicine to stop an asthma attack? There are good asthma pills that are taken daily, of different sorts, to help prevent asthma attacks. People with asthma also use "rescue inhalers" (they breathe in the medicine) that have steroids in them to stop a wheezing attack.

There ARE oral (taken by mouth) corticosteroid pills, but these types of steroids are typically an emergency type measure, for after a very bad allergic reaction.

If you are very allergic, you'd also want to consider carrying an epi-pen at all times. This in a medicine that is injected by needle when you have a bad reaction to food or insect bites.

I have found the allergy pills that are supposed to be "non-sedating" (don't make you sleepy) to not be too effective, either! The only one that works for me is tripolidine, which WILL make you sleepy. It's in Actifed and the generic equivalent of Actifed. You must ask for it at the pharmacist's counter, tho, because it has another ingredient in it that the pharmacists must register.

Be sure to ALWAYS tell any doc or NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (physician's assistant ) about ALL the medicines, herbs, vitamins, supplements, etc. (including herbal drinks and teas) that you are taking, as some medicines or herbs might interfere with other ones.

Have you considered allergy shots? For me, they have made a major difference in my life: i can be outside, or go to a friend's house with a cat or dog, but before the shots i could not do this. I carry an epipen and an inhaler at all times. I also wear a necklace with an alert on it that i have asthma.

It depends on a variety of things, for one, your income. Check with your local Social Security Office and they can tell you. And please, keep up the allergy shots. Asthma is a serious condition that can kill.

Do you need to wear gloves by OSHA standards when giving and allergy immunotherapy injection?, The doctors office where I work informed me that I do not need to wear gloves when giving injections. My thought is that they do not want to keep buying as many gloves for the office and I do not feel safe giving the shots without protection. I need to know if its against OSHA reg so I don't get fired or layed off for continuing to use them.

What treatment is useful to reverse the effects of semen allergy after injection into the vagina?,

there are several medical treatments that require a carefully dosed amount of semen to be introduced to the vagina on a regular basis. this MUST BE DONE BY A DOCTOR! or at least coordinated by a doctor to avoid unnecessary harm or possibly death (it can be fatal).

Is it normal to experience pain lasting several days after receiving an injection of Benadryl?, More than 2 weeks ago I received a 50mg Benadryl injection to relieve allergy symptoms. Since the day I was treated I've been experiencing pain around the injected area. Is this reaction normal?

Yes you can be sore that long mainly if you keep your arm stilll and dont move much, when you more if helps move the medicine through your muslces..If your still worried you can always call back to the place and ask them they will know for sure if you should still be sore or not

How does BC?BS handle allergy injection when a child has to have them for 10 days straight and then once a wee, a child has to have allergy shots for 10 days and then once a week for 11 weeks. I wonder how BC/BS pays for it.

You may have been given a shot of diphenhydramine or Benadryl by injection. Now if you were an allergic reaction causing difficulty breathing or swelling of the throat/tongue/face then that is more of epinephrine.

Allergy serum injections for allergic pets? Did it work for your pet?, I am a cvt who has tried everything to treat my girls severe allergies. We just started allergy injections which is the last and best option to treat such severe allergies.

I've never personally had a dog on them, but I give injections to many dogs that are on the VARL allergy serum, and the dogs do FANTASTIC! They literally have no problems with their allergies anymore and have been completely weaned off of allergy relief medication.

Do you take skin allergy test before Penicillin injection?,

nope. I have given tons of Penicillin injections and we were never required to test the patient for a possible allergy ahead of time. Now, if the patient has a suspected allergy the doctor MIGHT consider a test prior. But it is highly unlikely, because it would be much easier to give the patient a comparable drug that they are definitely not allergic to.
