How long does allergy season last in Ohio?, I have been a long time allergy sufferer. I just moved to NE Ohio from Florida. While I was living in FL, my spring allergy season would go from March to end of April. But up here, I just started getting symptoms in April. Now it is May and I am still suffering (even with Rx drugs). Do any of you know when I should expect relief?

It's really hard to know, because it all depends on what you are allergic to and what is causing your symptoms. Not knowing what is making you ill makes it really hard to says, especially since the plants are so different from Florida to Ohio!

it's not a "season". You have to find out "what" you are allergic to.... If you remove that, then the allergy should stop.
If you come in contact with "it" every March, then it would appear that you are allergic every March but that would be a misconception or misinterpretation.

there are tons of different trees and plants and they all seem to pollinate at different times from early spring to late fall. Unless you test for each specific tree, you won't know which ones are affecting you, in any case the treatment is the same for all of them. Some times medications work, sometimes desensitizing shots work (about 30% of the time) and sometimes nothing works and you learn to deal with it. About your plans, you may not have any problems at all as you have not been exposed to the various allergens there, so you may not be sensitive to them. Usually you have to live somewhere for six months to a year before you become sensitive to the local allergens.

I swear by Zyrtec... can get it over the counter now... 24 hours... doesn't make me sleepy and helps my severe allergies...

try using a neti pot during the season to clean out your sinus cavity. it really helped my husband, he has had allergies all his life.

It really depends on what you're allergic to. Seasonal allergies are usually spring/summer, but could vary if you are allergic to fall flowering plants.

When it's allergy season for me my face has started to break out bad, please any reason why?!!?, Within the past seven years I have developed allergies. I know the reason for them is because of the ragwood trees. But just within the past three years my face has startedt o break out really bad on the sides of my face. And it just happens when it's fall. My allergies will start by the middle of next month so I am looking for any input so I can have a better allergy season without the breakout!! At first they are not even pimples or blackheads these are almost like a white head. And if I do leave them there they don't go away, and whenn it does turn into a pimple it takes a lot longer than a normal pimple would to go away. I have tried all the store bought pimple fighting creams. Anyone else have this same problem and if so what do you do?

Yes I did have the same problem..and I feel your pain in the worse way. What it took for me was to go to a dermatologist. Store bought creams don't have enough medication in them to do the trick, plus your going to need an anti-inflamatory. It sounds like your allergic to the chemical itself within the ragweed.
