How did jessica simpson lose weight?

You're now magically Jessica Simpson: do you lose weight due to criticism or shrug it off?, Realistically, what would you probably do?

she looks fine...that's hollywood standards which is moronic...those were ugly jeans that didn't look good on her

how did jessica simpson recently lose all that weight?,

She did the 5 factor diet. This diet came from the personal trainer/diet guru to the stars Harley Pasternak.

Jessica Simpson weight battle? Is this a publicity stunt? I never heard anyone call her fat!?, I just recently heard about the Jessica Simpson weight battle and how she was supposedly criticized for her weight gain. Who is criticizing her? I never heard anyone say anything about her being fat. I don't think she is by the way. All I hear is people defending her for gaining a few pounds. That's fine but who is doing the criticizing? It seems like there is more criticism for being too thin. When you lose a few pounds you get put on the front cover of every tabloid and told you are too thin. I have never seen a celebrity gain 5 or 10 pounds and then be put on the front cover telling them they are fat.

First of all, she's not fat. Not by a long shot. I wear bigger pants than her, and I'm not considered fat either.

Secondly, she went on an extremely calorie-restricted diet for a movie role, and added at least 12 hours of working out *a week*. That's almost an entire part-time job. She specifically said that the combination of the diet and the extreme exercise was not to her liking. I agree. Expecting anyone to work out 12 hours a day and *never* eat anything with carbs in it is not encouraging someone to be healthy, it's encouraging someone to be miserable and obsessive.

I am an athlete, and I do "work out" that many hours a week or more. I choose to do that though because I enjoy it. Jessica Simpson obviously didn't. And when she gave it up she didn't become "fat". Good lord. If that's fat, I'm a damned oil tanker. Furthermore, my coach would kill me if I did the repetitive cardo required to get my body fat that low. It would utterly destroy my upper body strength for my main event: the shot-put, and be incapable of the muscular strength required for short-distance events. The extreme South-Beach style diet she was on is specifically for rapid unhealthy weight loss, not health, not athletics, and not for any sort of mental stability. You ever try not eating any sort of carb for a long period of time? It's agony.

She isn't "battling her weight". She obviously goes to great pains as it is to make sure that she's thin enough to be a singer without being ridiculed. It's just that putting her natural body up to the body she acquired for one role with a diet and exercise plan that she didn't like creates a large contrast. Remember it wasn't long ago that people were circulating pictures of her and asking if she was "too thin".

What really needs to be said here is that Jessica Simpson is a human being, not an object that has to conform to some sort of thin purpose or be tossed aside. She's definitely smaller than the average woman *still*, but she doesn't look like a 12 year old boy with cantaloupes attached to her chest anymore. She doesn't have weight "problems". If anything, it's really a sign of how sick this culture is that a woman who exercises enough to make it a part-time job and doesn't get to enjoy her own birthday cake is considered "healthy", even when she attests that such behaviors made her miserable.

Do you think Jessica Simpson gained too much weight?, http://www.theimproper.com/Images/Art/je...

It is not a crime to gain weight but honestly, I think that celebrities also have the responsibility to look very good especially if they have been known for being "sexy". If Jessica was the size she is now when she started, I don't think she'd be as famous as she is now. That is the reason why we admire them. We like to watch them because they radiate health, beauty, discipline, and talent. I am not saying that Jessica should be a size zero. But if a celebrity with an image like hers wants to keep her "worldwide appeal", I guess she should lose a little weight. She might look "normal" for the American standard but "fat" in other countries especially in most Asian countries where a lot of these Hollywood celebrity fans come from. Then again, If she is happy with the way she looks then let her be. We have no right to judge her. Jessica is lovely no matter what size she is.

Yes she is...

HELP!!! HOW MUCH WEIGHT WILL I LOSE IF I DO THIS?, Before reading, do you have any diets or tips that worked? Thank you :)

Okay, I wanna lose 10-15 pounds. I also wanna get abs and STAY healthy. I wanna cut down cholesterol. ( I don't have it, but afraid to get it in the future)

Also I wanna have more physical activity.
Also, how long would it take me to lose 10-15 pounds. I heard Jessica Simpson lost 10 pounds in two weeks.

Breakfast: Honey Crunch 'N Oats cereal. ( Half a bowl) And half a bagel with raisins in it. And problaly water. If I can't have cereal or bagel, I'll have a smoothie. Or tea!

Lunch: Anything that school has, but, if I have a cheese burger, I'd put salad in it just to make it healthier.

Afterschool: A chicken sand which with pickles :]] I'd have a smoothie if I didn't have a good lunch.

Snacks: Cappuccino(Mocha) fruits, veggies.

Dinner: Mixed veggies, soup, chicken, turkey, NO beef.

Drinks: Water,Cappuccino, and Milk.

Activity: Yoga/stretches 5-10-15 minutes in morning,
Crunches, yoga, pilates, push-ups, dancing, volley ball, basketball, running/jogging, walking.

no more smoothies please. Please have yogurt instead. I took a look at your meals and it isnt bad but i recommend you have oatmeal instead for breakfast. This will lower cholesterol and help you lose weight. There is no better breakfast than a bowl of oatmeal. If possible bring your own lunch to school. School lunch won't help you shed any pounds. I know some schools offer salads with grilled chicken so get that if it is available. Make sure you are drinking ice water rather than room temperature water because the colder it is the faster your metabolism will be. If you ate every three hours it would be ideal for you to lose weight. Eating small frequent meals is the best way to lose weight and not that many people know this. They assume the less they ate the better but that is not true because it makes your body store more fat when you starve yourself. By eating more your body will burn more calories and will store less fat. If you do this you can lose 10-15 pounds in a good month or so.

Why is it okay for the media to criticize Jessica Simpson for her weight gain ... ?, ... but Michael Phelps lost all his endorsement deals because someone took a picture of him with a bong?

Michael Phelps is said to be setting a bad example to young people by being caught (in the privacy of his own home) smoking marijuana, yet the media (and not only entertainment media - even the New York Times!) is allowed to openly rip on Jessica Simpson for putting on 20 lbs and being a healthy and normal size? By doing this, the media is HUGELY setting a bad example for young women around the world, saying that being curvy means you are "fat" and unattractive to men.

What is your opinion on this?

It's nothing new it's been happening for so long and it isn't okay. Even though we all have the freedom of choice the media should take some type of ethical responsibility for the standards set in our society. As long as people keep watching and as long as we keep buying it seems it's not going to stop. There are many disturbing psycho-social factors that can be directly correlated to the way media portrays BOTH men and women. In more recent times this is happening a lot more with men too.

I think the fact it seems "ok" for the media to criticize Jessica Simpson and any woman for that matter in the public eye for her weight gain, is just because it has been happening for so long it is more socially acceptable BUT that doesn't make it right! (The use of thin and highly sexualized women imagery)

What is disturbing is how they criticize her one minute then play the righteous by publicly persecuting Mr. Phelps for what he did, that is just twisted.(I am not saying what Phelps did is ok, it's personally i feel none of my business).

The media takes on the role of a "judge" in my opinion and takes no ethical responsibility for the social issues that arise as a result of what is showed to the public for the purpose of profit, business, and mass consumerism. The fact that the mass media is profiting off of such things is absolutely disgusting. I guess the default assumption is that we all have choices and we don't have to "buy" BUT that doesn't make it right.

Like my parents taught me "just because you can, doesn't mean you should".

The critics of size in the media are simultaneously promoting the sexualization of women whether they know it or not. By portraying men and women in a sexual way (often times the purpose of portraying women "thin" or commenting on when then "gain weight" is because women are for the most part suppose to be used as highly sexualized imagery to sell products in main stream media) they hope to attract the eye of the consumer and the money in our wallets.

As for the men they are more and more portrayed as being "buff" or extremely well fit, not just thin but "ripped" and this is as equally bad and although I haven't done a research project on the men's angle I can guarantee there are probably a number of issues that can be directly correlated to the way men are being portrayed in more recent times by the mass media. This actually would be a great research project I think.

I did a huge research project on the highly sexualized imagery used of women in mass media. Some of the results I found were pretty disturbing. Here are links to some sources I used that you might find interesting, this is not a complete list but some interesting ones.

Was it "Presidential" for Obama to comment on JenniferSimpson's weight?, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/...

During his pre-Super Bowl interview with Matt Lauer Barack Obama joked about Jessica Simpson's weight.
MSNBC reported:

LAUER: And here’s a great picture —

OBAMA: Oh, it’s beautiful.

LAUER: — of — of you and — and Michelle and — and your daughters. Now, the — the reason I bring this up I think is funny. It’s a great picture.

OBAMA: Yeah.

LAUER: But I wanna show you the cover. Look what they did. They — they took you off the cover.

OBAMA: Yeah.

LAUER: They took you out of it.

OBAMA: It — it’s — it’s a little hurtful.

LAUER: You got replaced by Jessica Simpson.

OBAMA: YEAH, WHO`S LOSING A WEIGHT BATTLE APPARENTLY (LAUGHTER) Yeah. Oh, well.

Funny how all the Obama supporters on here are saying "it was just a joke" or "you're taking it out of context"... Truth is Obama said something wrong, rude, and inappropriate! It was not presidential at all and shows his true self. He never knows the right thing to say unless someone writes it for him!

What would have happened if Bush every said that about Oprah!?!

Why do the double standards exist so much with our new president?

super big perm...will it give me jessica simpson hair??, I have very long hair (all the way down my back) and i dont have hardly ANY natural wave or curl...im not willing to part with it..so cutting it off to lose the weight from it isn't an option...anyhow i want to have that sexy full hair with lots of body and curls (think Jessica Simpson). i can get this wth a curling iron but that takes HOURS!! so i was wondering if its possible to get a really big perm (i have side swept bangs that i want to stay straight) and if so...how would i style it without it looking frizzy

perm style and curling iron style never be the same.
it could be similar, tho.
maybe you want get a little layered and thinned down - otherwise, you gonna get a big head!
get big wave - make sure that they have big rods, like 3/4 diameter or bigger, maybe?? if they have long one, that's even better!! but its also how to wind and choice of chemical, time etc effect....
Plus, i don't know which Jessica Simpson style!
you want to have a photo with you when you go to the salon.
styling is easy.
wash, towel dry, put some wax or mousse.
naturally dry it.

How much weight can you lose in a month? In a healthy way?, I want to be fit within the next two months. I currently weight 130 and I am 5'4". I am 28 and I am not starving myself to be thin. . .only to gain it back twice as fast. I want to be fit and toned. I plan on using my elliptical 45-60 min a day and additional strength training like dumbells, leg raises, crunches, etc. My build is kind of like an untoned jessica simpson. I know I could have good figure and feel more confident if I work at it. I want to do it by May 31st that is my goal. It more has to do with toning and flatter lower stomach then weight.

The healthy amount of weight to lose in a week is 1 lb according to doctors.

The biggest thing you can do is cut sodas out of your diet, you would be amazed at the weight that someone would drop just from getting all that sugar out of their diet and you'll feel better!

What do you think of celeb sites calling skinny celebs fat and then critaszing when they loose weight?, Im not going to lie i did have a specific website in mind (one that has a very similar name to a famous heiress)
Im fed of the way they critasize celebs like mischa barton saying they are fat and then when the enevitable weight lose occurs they critasize that as well. It even works the other way around, Perez used to call jessica simpson too skinny and now shes gained weight he calls her fat.
I know there are lot of people that critasize the media for teenage girls obsessions with weight, but in this case I think it might be true. What do you think???

You know to be honest I think it is totally the medias fault. OK yes it is there job to broadcast and give us info and the goss on celebs but they over dramatise every thing. I mean why should they have any right to criticise others, famous or not. Thats like someone you know telling their friend your sister looks fat.
And yes we all have bitching sessions but it is as if they purpously go out of their way to make the celebs feel bad. And to make it fifty times worse we teenage girls especially look up to the various celebrities like Mischa, Paris and Nicole. We see them under pressure from the media to lose weight and we instantly want to look like them.

I don't know what it is but we want to be them even when they look like stick insects. In my opinion it is the media trying to sell their magazines etc by making catchy slogans that happen to be really unfair and hurtful.
Yeah so thats my opinion! Any one agree?
